What is love? ANCIENT EGYPT

  ANCIENT EGYPT Settlement in Ancient Egypt was dated back as far as  5000BC. Egypt has a river called River Nile which is the longest river in  the world. The early settlers were mostly farmers who settled  along the Nile River. The kingdom of ancient Egypt was ruled by dynasties of  kings. It has 31 dynasties until it was conquered by  Alexander  the Great in 332 BC.  King Menes was the one who unite the  Upper and Lower Egypt. EGYPTIAN RELIGION Egyptians worshipped many gods and goddesses. Some of  their gods/goddesses are: 1. Amon-Re 2. Osiris’ 3. Isis-goddess 4. Horus EGYPTIAN LIFE They believed in life after death and that is why they usually  preserved the dead using the process of mummification. They also have the Egyptian Pyramid which has attracted so  many tourists to Egypt. They were very civilized and they usually used herbs to cure illness. They are also good in keeping records.   WORLD WAR II (1939-1945) After World War I, Germany had to pay reparations to the  winning forces and lost her territories. But, Italy was not  satisfied with the treaty because she was not given enough  reparations to offset her losses in the war. However, Adolf Hitler promised the Germans that he would  get them more land and Germany disregarded the Treaty of  Versailles and increased her army and acquired more  weapons. During the war, Hitler persecuted the Jews and  other minorities and took over Austria and part of  Czechoslovakia and invaded Poland. The Germans and Italians, known as the Axis Power, began a  plan to conquer all of Europe but the Allied Powers of Britain,  France, USA and the Soviet Union fought against the Axis  Powers. Later on, Japan joined the Axis Powers and attacked  Pearl Harbour, a US Naval base and this made the USA to  dropped two atomic bombs on the Japanese cities of  Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Finally, the Allied Powers defeated the Axis Powers

CONSTITUTION-YEAR 4

  CONSTITUTION This is the basic rules, regulations and principles that govern people’s behaviour.   TYPES OF CONSTITUTION 1. Written Constitution: This is where all the rules and laws which govern the country are written in one document. Example, Nigeria’s constitution 2. Unwritten constitution: This is where all the country’s rules and laws are not contained in just one document. Example, Britain and Italy have an unwritten constitution. 3. Rigid constitution: A rigid constitution requires special procedures before rules and laws can be changed. 4. Flexible constitution: A flexible constitution does not require any special procedure before it can be changed NIGERIAN CONSTITUTION The current Nigerian constitution was written in 1999 and it adopts the United Nations Declaration of Human Rights among other things which states that: All people are born equal and should have equal rights. Everyone has the right to live, the right to be free and the right to be safe

He was formerly one of the archangels in heaven. What is temptation? This means asking or forcing someone to do what God does  not want him to do. It is the desire to do something wrong. Jesus: “It is written; Man shall not live by bread alone but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.   JESUS OVERCOMES DISEASES AND DEATH Memory verse: Matthew 8:17 “This was to fulfil what was spoken by the prophet  Isaiah,  "He took our infirmities and bore our diseases." 1.   A healing miracle uses God's power through Jesus to cure  a sick person. 2. Jesus raised the widow's son at Nain (Luke 7:11-17)

CULTURAL PRESEVATION-YEAR 4

  CULTURAL PRESERVATION Cultural preservation is the act of using well-designed methodologies to maintain cultural heritage. WAYS OF PRESERVING OUR CULTURE As cultures are based on beliefs, they are not static, they change over time hence the need to preserve them for the generation yet unborn. Museums: A museum is a place where documents, materials, artefacts are stored and displayed. Symbols: A symbol can refer to an object, picture, mark or image which has a particular meaning for people. Example, the Nigeria flag and Coat of Arms. Buildings: Buildings also tell a story about our culture. The building is a way of preserving our culture for future generations. Fashion: Our clothes and accessories are part of our culture. These clothes and accessories can be preserved. Example, 'aso oke' in Yoruba land.   Festivals:  Festivals helps us preserve our culture because their rituals, events and customs remind us what our ancestors practised and believed. Example, Eyo festival i
