Totalitarianism: This is when the government attempts to control every aspect it citizens’ lives.


SOME BASIC FEATURES OF A TOTALITARIAN STATE

        i. Power belongs to a single or few people

      ii. Only one political party is allowed

       Iii. The government uses terror and force to get people to obey it.


SOME COUNTRIES THAT HAVE EXPERIENCED 

TOTALITARIANISM INCLUDE:

v 1. Germany under Adolf Hitler

v 2. Iraq under Saddam Hussein

v 3. Uganda under Idi Amin

v 4. Cuba under Fidel Castro



 Communism: This is economic and political system in 

which all the means of production, distribution and exchange

 are owned, managed and controlled by the state. Karl Marx is

 often referred to as the “Father of communism”.


THE BASIC FEATURES OF COMMUNISM

11. There is no social class

22. Priority is given to the needs of the general public

33. Production factories are not owned by individuals.

China

 Laos

North Korea
