CULTURE

Culture is the sum total of people's way of life. It is simply the way people live, including their values and beliefs.


THE ELEMENTS OF CULTURE

The following are some of the elements of culture:

1. Family System: Our culture determines the type of families we belong to. Some culture accept polygamous family while others do not.

 

2. Language: All cultures have their own languages. It is one of the unique elements of culture.

 

3. Food and Agriculture: The food we eat depends on the plants and crops that grow in the area in which we live.

 

4. Clothing: In Nigeria, people dress differently according to where they come. You can identify a typical Nigerian from his or her dress.

 

5. Religion: People's religions differ according to their culture.

 Example, in Nigeria we Muslims and Christians as well as

 traditional worshippers.
