Mary and Joseph

MEMORY VERSE: LUKE 1:38

 "Behold, I am the handmaid of the Lord; Let it be me

 according to your word."

Joseph was from the house of David and he lived in Nazareth, in Galilee. He was a carpenter. Joseph and Mary were engaged to get married before the angel visited Mary.

The name of the Angel is Angel Gabriel. The Angel told Mary that she will give birth to Jesus who would be the saviour of the world.


THE BIRTH OF JESUS

Memory verse: Luke2:15 “Glory to God in the highest and on earth peace among men with whom he is well pleased."

THE BIRTH OF JESUS

When it was time for Jesus to be born, Mary and Joseph went to Bethlehem for a census and there, Jesus was born in a stable. His mother wrapped him in a white cloth and laid him in a manger

After Jesus was born, some wise men who followed a special star from the East visited him. They worshipped Jesus and 

presented the following gifts: gold, frankincense and myrrh.


JESUS AS BROTHER AND FRIEND

Memory verse: Luke2:15 “Glory to God in the highest and

 on earth peace among men with whom he is well pleased."

Jesus is our brother and friend because he loves little children. Jesus said: Let the little children come to me, do not

 hinder them for such belongs to the kingdom of God."

Qualities of Jesus as a child

1. He was obedient

2. He was creative

3. He was intelligent

4. He was God-fearing


THE STORY OF DAVID AND JONATHAN

MEMORY VERSE: 1 Samuel 18:14 "And David behave himself wisely in all his ways, and the Lord was with him."

A friend is someone you love and trust. A good friend must 

be honest, humble, trustworthy, God-fearing etc

THE STORY OF DAVID AND JONATHAN

David and Jonathan were true friends. They loved each other and helped each other.

Jonathan gave David presents like a robe, a bow and arrows.

So, when Saul the father of Jonathan wanted to kill David

Jonathan helped him to escape. Moral Lesson: We must 

learn to be true friends of one another, just like David and

 Jonathan were good friends.


JESUS AND LAZARUS

MEMORY VERSE: JOHN 11:43 Jesus prayed and cried 

out: Lazarus, come out."

Lazarus was a friend of Jesus. He lived in Bethany with his two sisters, Mary and Martha.

One day, Lazarus became sick and Mary and Martha sent for Jesus.

 By the time Jesus arrived, Lazarus had died and was buried.            

Jesus prayed and cried out: "Lazarus come out."

Lazarus woke up and became alive again.

Moral Lesson: God wants us to help our friends, like Jesus helped Lazarus.



THE STORY OF THE CALL OF THE TWELVE DISCIPLES

MEMORY VERSE: Matthew 4:19 "And he said unto them, Follow me and I will make you fishers of men"

Who is a disciple?

A disciple is one who accepts and assists in spreading the 

doctrines of another.
